"Well, this has a one in a million chance of working, but I thought I’d try anyway.
We were in the security line at LAX. You wore leather boots and a long, white shirt under something else; you didn’t take out your headphones until the very end. I thought you were looking at me, and I tried not to stare. Then later, I went to my gate and looked around on the off chance you were there, but you weren’t so I sat down and started grading exams (I’m a professor). Suddenly you appeared and sat directly behind me. I wanted to say hello, but I couldn’t think of a good opener. When boarding began, I realized we were both on the same flight to Seattle. Later on the plane, you sat in 15B, and I was four rows behind; I tried to send you a seat-to-seat message, but it didn’t seem to work. Went down to baggage claim after we arrived, though I had only carry-on, but didn’t have the courage to approach you cold.
You’re the most beautiful person I’ve almost met. You always read a book, never checked a phone or other device (I certainly did), and had a slightly sad look in your eyes. It was love at first sight on my end. If you see this, please write, and if you don’t, I hope the message will serve as a reminder to everyone else: have courage and find a way to meet the person if anything like this ever happens to you.”
I love reading these. because i am a girl. and a hopeless romantic.
